‘No Joe. You’re Mr. President’: Maryland Rep. Hoyer welcomes President Biden at the Capitol

As part of his brief speech, Hoyer, the House majority leader, said he was “proud” and “ecstatic” to mark Biden’s inauguration. He shared an excerpt from “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” a poem written by NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson and later set to music. The tune is often called “the Black national anthem.”
