Baltimore County backs state legislation increasing oversight of county schools to prevent fraud, waste

In a statement, county schools spokesman Charles Herndon said the school system “takes seriously its obligation to use local and state funding responsibly and judiciously,” and is able to “ensure continued financial integrity” through existing channels, like the school system’s Office of Internal Audit, which reports to the Board of Education.
