Democratic Maryland senators’ worlds will look different if party assumes control following Georgia runoff election

Democrats would gain Senate control if Jon Ossoff beats incumbent David Perdue in the second runoff, which is too close to call. An Ossoff victory would leave each party with 50 seats. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, a Democrat, would vote to break any ties over legislation, effectively giving her party control.
